Strategic & Integrated Spatial Planning guidelines for the strategic and integrated development of planning areas are formulated on behalf of and in collaboration with provincial, metropolitan and local authorities. Our work includes determining the nature, intensity and arrangement of land uses with due consideration to socio-economic and environmental factors, transport matters, and development priorities in a humane and sustainable manner.
We combine highly specialised planning proficiency with strategic thinking and the ever-changing trends in land use, city management, administration, programming and budgeting. Our main objective is to assist all levels of government in the transformation process, installing a culture of delivery through realistic and integrated strategic development plans. Such plans redirect financial and human resources to achieve accountability and transparency towards the needs and priorities of communities.
GP&D’s spatial planning work goes beyond compliance — it shapes communities by guiding sustainable land use decisions that improve liveability, economic opportunity and long-term development outcomes across Gauteng and South Africa.
Assessing the planning context, applicable legislation, land use rights and development potential of the area.
Preparing integrated spatial development frameworks in collaboration with authorities and relevant stakeholders.
Facilitating community engagement and stakeholder consultation in line with SPLUMA requirements.
Finalising the plan for municipal adoption and providing ongoing advisory support during implementation.
